When someone is receiving hospice care, transportation can become more difficult. If the patient is unable to sit upright for the trip, stretcher transportation may be needed so they can remain lying down during the ride.

This type of transport is often used for hospital discharges to hospice, hospice to home, or when patients need to move between care locations.

It is very common for families to contact a transportation provider when they want to bring their loved one home from hospice. Many hospice stretcher transports are one way trips, and that is something our team helps coordinate regularly.
