2. Assistance is passive, not proactive.  Under standard rideshare policy, drivers help stow assistive devices only when explicitly asked, not as a standard part of the service. For a post-surgical patient or someone with cognitive impairment, that is a meaningful gap.

3. Wheelchair and door-to-door service is outsourced.  When rideshare platforms offer wheelchair-accessible or door-to-door transport, it typically runs through third-party partners in select locations, with advance scheduling windows of 24 hours or more. You are not booking rideshare at that point. You are booking a subcontracted NEMT provider through a middle layer.

4. Availability is probabilistic.  Rideshare fulfillment depends on driver supply at that moment. Dashboards show a likelihood of availability, not a guarantee. For a dialysis patient who cannot miss a session, "likely" is not a transportation plan.
