Few things are more stressful than waiting on a ride that never comes, especially when you have an appointment to keep. It happens more often than it should, and we understand the frustration. If a provider does not show up, here is how to handle it.
Call your broker right away
Because covered trips are managed by your transportation broker, they are the ones to contact when something goes wrong. Call your broker, whether that is Alivi Health, MTM, Modivcare, or another company tied to your plan, and let them know your assigned provider did not arrive. In many cases they can work to arrange a replacement, especially if you call as soon as you realize the ride is late.
Report it so it is on record
Even after the immediate problem is handled, report the no-show to your broker. That feedback matters. When a broker has a record of missed trips, they can avoid assigning that provider to you again. Try to note the date, time, and the provider name if you have it.
Protect your future trips
Once you find a company you trust, you can ask your broker to make them your preferred provider so you are less likely to get stuck again. Preferred provider requests are not guaranteed, but brokers will often honor them when they can.
If your plan is managed by Alivi Health, Skyline is in network and you can request us as your preferred provider. In the Alivi system we are registered as NDI Health Services, so that is the name to give when you make the request. Once we are set as your preferred provider, your trip request comes to us first before the other providers, and if our schedule allows, we will take it.
Reliable wheelchair transport matters most
If you rely on wheelchair transport, a no-show is more than an inconvenience, it can mean missing critical care. That is why a dependable provider makes such a difference. At Skyline, we specialize in wheelchair-accessible transportation and our team is trained in proper wheelchair securement, so you can count on a safe, on-time ride when it matters.
