When booking wheelchair transportation, you’ll often hear terms like curb-to-curb and door-through-door. While they sound similar, the level of service between the two can make a big difference in comfort and safety.
Curb-to-Curb service means the driver meets the client at the curb outside their home or facility and drops them off at the curb of their destination. The driver does not enter buildings or assist beyond the vehicle area. This option is best suited for passengers who are fully independent or have someone available to help on each end.
Door-Through-Door service, on the other hand, includes full assistance from start to finish. The driver comes inside the home, facility, or medical office, helps navigate doorways and hallways, and ensures the client is safely transferred in and out of the vehicle. This service is ideal for passengers who need extra support or have mobility challenges.
At Skyline Transport, our wheelchair and stretcher transport services are door-through-door—meaning we go the extra step to ensure every client’s comfort and safety from their room to their destination.
