What to Expect When Skyline Transport Arrives for Stretcher Transport

When scheduling a stretcher transport with Skyline Transport, our goal is to make every part of the trip safe, comfortable, and well-coordinated. Here’s what to expect when our drivers arrive.

ree

When our team gets to the home or facility, they’ll come inside with the stretcher and make sure there’s enough space to safely move through hallways, doorways, and near the bed. If needed, they may ask for small furniture or items to be moved to create a clear path.

The stretcher will be placed right next to the bed to make the transfer smooth and safe. Our drivers will carefully assist the client from the bed onto the stretcher, ensuring comfort and security before leaving the room. Once ready, they’ll wheel the stretcher out to the vehicle and lock it securely into place for transport.

When the client arrives at the appointment, what happens next depends on the type of visit:

  • For dialysis, procedures, or similar medical appointments: Upon arrival, our team will safely transfer the client from the stretcher to the bed or chair provided by the facility. Once the client is settled and checked in, the driver will leave the site to continue serving other patients. When the appointment or treatment is complete, the facility or client should call our dispatch team at 800-515-8028 to let us know the client is ready for pickup. If there’s a preset return time, the driver will return at that scheduled time, or a member of the facility staff may call when the client is ready to go.

  • For regular office or follow-up appointments: In these cases, the Skyline Transport driver will remain on site during the visit. The driver will assist with checking the client in, push the stretcher back to the exam room, and then step out to allow privacy while the client meets with the doctor. Once the appointment is finished, the office staff will notify the driver, who will return to assist the client back out to the vehicle for the trip home.

No matter the situation, our focus is always the same—safety, comfort, and dignity. Every member of the Skyline Transport team is trained to handle stretcher transfers with care and professionalism, ensuring each client receives dependable and respectful transportation throughout the Tampa Bay area.
